listening on port 443 (as well as 22, of course) so you'll never get any
response for http connection.

Also, your browser will (==should) complain about a bad certificate.
That's because it's self-signed by the honeywall. If you're satisfied
that it really is your own honeywall that you're connecting to, accept
the certificate.
